CHILE
Chile is located along the west coast of the South American continent and is about 4,200 kilometer (2,600 mile) in length. The country is dominated by the Andes mountains. In the south it's very cold. However, the north is a desert area, where it can get very hot. In the north it borders with Bolivia and Peru, and in the east is Argentina. Chile has more than 5,000 kilometer (3,100 mile) of coastline along the Pacific Ocean. It also has a claim on a part of Antarctica. A famous island of Chile is Easter Island. This is a lonely volcanic island in the Pacific Ocean. It's famous for its mysterious stone statues that form a continuous ring around the island. The biggest attractions in Chile are undoubtedly the Atacama desert in the north and Patagonia in the south. El desierto de Atacama is the driest place on earth and is certainly worth a visit. The landscapes, salt lakes, villages such as San Pedro de Atacama and hot springs create a varied and surprising environment. The south is also beautiful, with penguins, glaciers and icebergs in the same country as the Atacama desert, Chile has it all.
