THAILAND
Thailand is the most popular destination in Southeast Asia and is famous for its delicious dishes and Buddhist culture. The country was formerly Siam and has never been colonized by a Western power, unlike many other countries in Southeast Asia. As a result, Thailand has been able to keep its authenticity. However, Thailand is very touristy, which again leads to the loss of authenticity in some areas. The climate of Thailand is largely tropical, so it's hot and humid all year long with temperatures between 28 and 35 °C (82-95 °F), with some cooling in the mountains in the far north of Thailand. The capital is Bangkok, a tropical metropolis known as one of Asia's most friendly cities for travellers. Thailand is blessed with a large number of tropical, almost paradise islands. Phuket is Thailand's largest island and is one of the most visited tourist destinations of Southeast Asia.
