Croatia in Southern Europe extends from the eastern slopes of the Alps in the northwest, to the Pannonian Basin and the Danube river to the east. The central part is covered by the Dinaric Alps and the southern part ends on the Adriatic coast.
LandscapeThe Croatian landscape is varied, so there are grasslands, lakes and hills in the continental north and northeast; closed mountain area at Lika and Gorski Kotar, part of the Dinarian Alps; rocky coastline along the Adriatic Sea and countless islands in the Adriatic Sea.

DubrovnikIn Croatia, there are many attractions that are listed on UNESCO's World Heritage List and are definitely worth a visit. One of this places is Dubrovnik, an old city on the Adriatic Sea coast in the extreme south of Croatia. Dubrovnik is nicknamed 'Pearl of the Adriatic'.
ZagrebZagreb, a vibrant city in Central Croatia, is the capital. The city has a charming medieval 'old city' with architecture and cobbled streets.
