12/10/2018 TRIP TO THE 3 NUSA ISLANDS IN INDONESIA
ME Active - The stunning Nusa Islands of Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Penida are a must see destination for any traveller visiting Bali in Indonesia.
It was already very long at my list and finally I went in the summer of 2018 to these three islands. In 12 pictures I show you my trip to these Nusa Islands with my own remarkable view.
1. Nusa Lembongan - Devil's Tears Bay
I saw already a lot of sunsets in my life during all my travels. But the sunset at this place blew my mind. Devil's Tear is a unique cave pool on the edge of rocky cliffs which can be found on the Nusa Lembongan island at Bali in Indonesia. At my IGTV channel you can find also a short movie 'Sunset at Devil's Tear in Nusa Lembongan'.
2. Nusa Lembongan - private beach
My own private beach. I discovered this spot by passing a large rock at low tide at the end of a popular beach. Suddenly I was standing on an empty white sand beach which apparently can only be reached at low tide.
3. Nusa Lembongan - Mushroom Beach
The sea, the blue and the beach. What life can be beautiful.
4. Nusa Lembongan - Jungutbatu Beach
A view to Jungutbatu Beach, the place at Nusa Lembongan where the most fast boats arrive coming from Bali. In the distance you can see Bali's most famous volcano Mount Agung in the clouds.
5. Nusa Lembongan - Yellow Bridge
The 'Instagram famous' Yellow Bridge. The brightly coloured landmark connects the two Indonesian islands Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. It's also the only connection between the two islands. Only motorcycles and pedestrians can cross the bridge, so you won't find cars on the smaller Nusa Ceningan.
6. Nusa Ceningan - view from the top
A little hiking trip from 12 kilometre (7.5 mile) at the small Indonesian island Nusa Ceningan brought me along some scenic roads and paths. The westward views back over the neighbouring island Nusa Lembongan are impressive. Eastwards the top of the island gives an amazing view from the cliffs to the other neighbouring island Nusa Penida. At this picture I had some view to Nusa Lembongan and the blue water between the two islands. If you look very close you also can spot the Yellow Bridge, the only connection between the two islands.
7. Nusa Ceningan - Blue Lagoon
The Blue Lagoon at Nusa Ceningan is a rocky cove of the clearest blue water I have ever seen. The water is more blue than blue. When I arrived here, I was immediately hooked on the enchanting blue water. If you are early, you are alone and you can stare peacefully at the rocks to the ocean.
8. Nusa Penida - Kelingking Beach
Is this awesome or awesome? I'm glad I came here now and didn't waited a few years longer because this place will become very popular, I'm sure. Kelingking Beach is one of the best know spots at Nusa Penida. The island is still very less developed and the roads and paths to get at places like this are very trouble and difficult to cross. But more and more travellers find they way now to this island.
9. Nusa Penida - Broken Beach
Broken Beach or Pasih Uug on the Nusa Penida island in Indonesia is a picturesque coastal formation on the southwestern edge of the island. This place is marked with a rock arch and is one of the landmarks at Nusa Penida.
10. Nusa Penida - Seganing Waterfall
Seganing Waterfall: my favourite place at the Nusa Penida island in Indonesia. To see the waterfall you have to climb down on the cliff where I took this picture. It is not an easy climb down and up. One way is about half an hour. Where the climb becomes too small to put your feet and keep your hands on the rocks, you will find some bamboo protection. But I would not trust too much. If you are not afraid of a little bit rock climbing and you are physically fit, you will discover a great place. Down at the cliff there is a small freshwaterpool in the rocks, so you can cool down while the waves roll in. You really feel the nature there. Not many people make it down. But it will be paid with a beautiful landscape and clear spring water next to the sea. This place is so private, so calm and so cozy. You can kill your time by just sitting in the pool all day, and then your mind will blow away.
11. Nusa Penida - at the cliffs
"Do more than just exist" - me at the cliffs at the Nusa island in Indonesia. It's the most awesome island I have seen already.
12. Nusa Penida - Crystal Bay
If you like snorkeling or diving, you should absolutely go to Crystal Bay on Nusa Penida. The water is super clear with beautiful coral reefs and many fish. Occasionally you can also spot a sea turtle here. And you don't have to rent a boat, you can easily swim from the beach to the boats. Most boats are at anchor.
