ME News - The Millennium Tour in the Swedish Stockholm has been voted 'Best Literary Walking Tour 2015' by Lonely Planet. The walk goes along locations described in the Millennium trilogy by the Swedish writer Stieg Larsson. Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy has been sold 23 million times worldwide and describes the adventures of financial journalist Mikael Blomkvist, publisher of the Millennium magazine, and his research partner Lisbeth Salander, a world-class hacker with a dark past. Although the books are fiction, most of the locations in the story are based on real buildings and places. A large part of the story takes place in Södermalm, the southernmost of the 14 islands on which the Swedish capital is built. It's one of the most densely populated places in Scandinavia. The island is connected to the rest of Stockholm by a number of bridges. Larsson himself lived here, as well as his characters Mikael Blomkvist and Lisbeth Salander.
