18/5/2018 Hiking to Kawah Ratu in JavaME Active - Kawah Ratu (Queen Crater) is an active crater with hot steam, in the Halimun National Park in Bogor at the island Java in Indonesia. For me it’s the most beautiful climb I ever did. While you are burning calories along the trip to the crater, you feel relaxed and you get natural therapy from all the beautiful around you. The climb to Kawah Ratu is also very easily accessible from Jakarta and Bogor. Not like most other mountains where the crater is on the top of the mountain, Kawah Ratu is at the foot of Mount Salak, it makes the crater even more unique to explore. And unlike all the famous craters and mountains in Indonesia, you don’t find thousands of people here. When we did the climb to the crater in full summer, we did not meet anyone. At the top of the crater we spotted three other hikers and when we went back downstairs we just saw two young ladies. So 'very quiet' is actually an understatement. A good stamina is a must. Because when we were climbing to the crater, our driver had to return to his car after 15 minutes. He thought it was more easier and he could do this on sandals. Good hiking shoes are important. To reach Kawah Ratu, you go through rainforest and some streams. In the national park you can discover also a lot of waterfalls. Along your journey tot the crater you will find a lot of birds that accompany you with singing. The whole park and the trip to Kawah Ratu have an exotic decoration as background. The view in the national park itself is a spectacular and perfect mix of nature, culture and volcanic magic. Kawah Ratu practicalHow to reach? There are three accesses to reach the site of Kawah Ratu: 1. Via Bunder Mountain passing Pasir Rengit, distance 3.5 kilometre (2.2 mile). 2.
