Discovering the rich history and cultural diversity of Belgium: a journey through Europe's hidden gem

+ READ HERE
Born and raised in Belgium, I have a deep appreciation for my home country. With its diverse landscapes, rich history and multilingual heritage, Belgium is a true gem in the heart of Europe.

Discover Flanders

In the northern part of Belgium, you'll find Flanders, where the locals speak Dutch and the land is mostly flat. Here, you'll come across some the country's most stunning historic cities, including Antwerp, Ghent and Bruges, each with its own unique charm and beauty.

Explore Wallonia and East Belgium

As you move south, you'll enter Wallonia, where French is the dominant language and German is spoken in the east. This region boasts rolling hills and breathtaking nature, with the Ardennes and High Fens providing ample oppertunities for outdoor adventure.

The heart of Belgium: Brussels

And in the very centre of Belgium, you'll find the capital city of Brussels, home to the headquarters of the European Union and the seat of Belgian government. This bustling city is bilingual, with both Dutch and French being widely spoken. And, of course, no visit to Brussels would be complete without a stop by its most famous landmark: the iconic "Manneken Pis", a small statue of a little boy peeing that has become a symbol of the city.

Savour for the flavour of Belgium

Belgium is known for its delectable cuisine, shaped by its rich history and cultural diversity. From sweet waffles and chocolats to mussels and fries, the country offers a variety of culinary delights. It's also famous for its beer, with over 200 types available, including traditional Trappist brews. From crisp pilsners to dark stouts, there's a beer for every taste. Belgium's wine industry also produces top-quality wines. Indulge in the country's tasty treats and discover why it's a foodie's paradise.
